We're finally getting caught up!
Today we met up with a good friend of Alina's - Iza, who lives in Kanab (lucky!!!). Iza and her mom joined us for our trek to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. All I can say about the North Rim is WOW!!! What a spectacular place! The North Rim has a different feel to it than the South Rim (which most people are familiar with). Driving to this part of the Canyon takes you through the Kaibab NF. This sets the scene for the "woodsy" appeal of North Rim. The landscape remains mostly forested, which adds to its beauty. At the North Rim the more eroded and sloping walls give a magnificent view of the Colorado River below. The North Rim is 1000' higher than the South Rim, resulting in cooler temperatures, a different environment and a lush forest.
